Brighten & Align the Look of Your Smile
Our smiles are usually the first things that people notice when they look at us. Unfortunately, those who are concerned with the appearance of their teeth may opt to hide their smiles. The good news is that there are options to help you feel confident again.
Dental veneers are custom-made shells that are bonded to the front surfaces of your teeth. They conceal cracks, chips, stains and other cosmetic imperfections. Veneers are a common tooth restoration option that allows you to achieve a brighter, more uniform smile. Each patient's veneers are carefully colour-matched to help create a smile that looks healthy and natural. They also provide additional strength to the underlying tooth structure.
While there are many different types of veneers, the most common ones are porcelain or composite. Here at Kingswood Dentistry, we offer porcelain veneers that are long-lasting and stain-resistant with proper care.
For some of our patients, the look of their smile can be the cause of a great deal of concern. If you would like to change the shape and colour of your teeth, veneers may be a suitable option for you. Once in place, your smile will be restored, so we hope you won't want to stop smiling!
How Veneers Work
The process for receiving dental veneers is fairly straightforward and will take two or more visits to our office to complete.
During the first visit, your dentist will take an impression of your teeth, which will be used to create your custom veneers. They will then send your impressions to a lab, where the veneers will be made.
These will be made from a razor-thin piece of porcelain. The porcelain imitates the natural translucency of tooth enamel and has a very natural look and feel. They will also be made to suit the shape of your face and match the colour of your natural teeth, to help you achieve your ideal smile.
Once your veneers have been made, you will return to the office where your new veneers will be bonded to the front of your natural teeth.
Benefits of Veneers
Dental veneers offer the opportunity to alter the appearance of your smile using minimally invasive techniques.
Some of the cosmetic issues that veneers can address include crooked, cracked, or stained teeth. They can also reduce unwanted spacing and change the size of your teeth.
With proper care, such as routine dental examinations and oral hygiene, they can last for many years.
